Advent House Meals
Meals are easy to prepare and serving is very rewarding. If you are new (or not) to Eastminster and would like to get involved please contact the church office for more information
In the summer of 1987 Pam Fulton, who was then the Associate Pastor at Westminster Presbyterian Church, came to speak to our Eastminster congregation about an outreach program called CONA (now Advent House). Rev. Fulton spoke passionately about the needs of the people living in West Lansing and the neighborhoods that surround Westminster. At the time CONA was providing a weekend day shelter with meals, some job training, Christian Education, tutoring and summer camp opportunities for kids. In November of 1987 Eastminster made a commitment to serve Advent House both financially and through the weekend meal program.
2017 marks our 30th year in partnership with Advent House and we, as a congregation, on the second Saturday of each month have served approximately 28,800 meals to our “neighbors” on the west side.
