Building Renovation
Click on the link to Photo Gallery above to see week-by-week photo albums of Eastminster Presbyterian Church's building renovation 2009-2010.

Thanks to a generous bequest from the estate of Margaret Lorimer Parsons, our church is undergoing extensive renovations including new lighting, windows, restrooms, and pantries. The congregation has also funded a new elevator to make our property barrier free. The anticipated completion date is December 21. Feel free to take a tour!

Renovation Progress Udate Nov 29 - Oh, the anticipation! As our renovation work progresses ever nearer to completion, we can scarcely wait to see the final results. The back entry has been fully replaced with glass windows and doors. The front entry design picks up the special features of our building architecture and makes a powerful statement of welcome and openness to our church. The expanded Narthex will now be more than double its original size and will provide a wonderful space for greeting each other and gathering for services.

The Family Restroom is now open. This completely new space is hands-free, ADA compliant and doubles as a space for bridal dressing. The Unisex Restroom is now closed. It will become a Women?s Restroom after much needed updates. The restrooms on the Lower Level are also being renovated.

The new storage cabinets for the Green Room to accommodate our tables and bell equipment have arrived and are beautiful.

Staining and painting work continues throughout the building. Emergency lights have been installed along with the many other electrical and lighting updates. The scaffolding has been removed from the elevator tower. The entrances to the building for the elevator have now been opened on both floors. Windows and operational equipment for the elevator are on the way. Entry doors on the Lower Level are also being replaced.

Through all the work, members and staff have been inconvenienced, occasionally surprised and regularly delighted by the numerous changes. But with true Christian modeling we have all been genuinely patient and welcoming to the many skilled craftsmen who have been on site doing this fantastic work. What we are receiving through our renovation is a gift because of the generosity of Margaret Lorimer Parsons and the members of this congregation through support of the Elevator Fund. As we approach completion of our renovation through this glorious Advent season remember the greatest gift we have been given. Raise your voices in song, let your souls be re-freshed. Our God is so good to us. Give praise with shouts of thanksgiving.

We can hardly wait!
